The Pera Turkish Taco Truck, stationed daily at the tourist office and gift shop that was once Tavern on the Green, has won what is apparently the first liquor license granted to a New York City food truck.

What was once the Water Taxi Beach (and before that the almost magical summer home of The Spiegeltent) has been rejiggered once again as the Beekman Beer Garden Beach Club. Named after the street that Pier 17 occupies, this new outdoor establishment has kept its predecessor’s sand and brought in craft beers, live music, ping pong, Foosball, and a traditional menu of beer garden favorites such as bratwurst, burgers and pretzels.
